Vest-a-boo-boo

Hello Kiddo,

This day started off weird and just got more and more weird from there. First, we had the worst wind storm I've seen, if not ever, then for a long time. Whipped thru here at 40 or 50 miles an hour, not that I know how fast that is, but it was a whippin'! Then my head started getting messed up because of the crazy storm rushing thru. So, what did I do? I knit. I worked on my new vest for about 3 1/2 hours (oh yeah, we also lost the power for 5 hours). Once I had a nap, hoping I would feel better (didn't work) got up, started on the vest again and a lightbulb went off! I was doing the SKP all wrong on the decrease edge. So, had to tink back 2 inches and then try to figure out where the heck I was with decreases and pattern rows. I think i've got it now though. IF my head holds out I'll work on it a little tonight while Dad goes to your Baby sisters band concert. I can't believe I have to miss it, but I don't want all those people thinking I'm a drinker or something.

So, that was my day. From the beginning (when we overslept) till the end, it's been one weird day.

Till next time, love ya,
Mom

This is my new hat, pre-felted. It's huge, but the colors are so pretty! I'm going to wait until my I-cord for my bag is done and then felt them at the same time. I put the mouse in the picture so you could see how HUGE the hat is before it gets thrown in the washer full of hot water. I'll post another pix after I felt it. Posted by Hello

I did these all today so now all the family cats (not all mine mind you) will have a catnip mouse to play with. The biggest, which looks fuzzy (cause it is) is done in wool and angora. The other 3 are different sizes cause I used different sized yarn and needles. Aren't they cute? They're for Toby, Marmalade, Cody and Mickey. Takes 30 minutes to make one. I got the pattern from wendyknits.com. Posted by Hello

Dear Mommy

How far did you get with your knitting today? Did you get your trees done? You need to take pictures and post them on here so everyone can see them. That would be cool.
Not a lot for me today... just hanging out here..
Talk to you later. Love ya

Another sweater for me!

Good Morning Neshaminy,
Well, I swatched for a new sweater yesterday and got the needles all figured out. It's the first time I've swatched with the size needles in the pattern and they actually worked. I usually have to go down a size or two. It's going to be a heather green, with lots of different stitches running thru it. Real pretty, but simple. You know me, I like simple.
I'm going to the big city Friday so I'll try to stop at Michaels and see what they have for your scrapbooking. I really don't need any more yarn, but might look and see what they have, just for the heck of it.
Not much going on here. Still trying to get my hat done so I can felt it with my "Little Companion" and then I have to finish Grandma's Shawlette before I head to their house. 3 more weeks till my first solo trip!
Hope you have a great day.
Love you,
Mom

Nothing Fantastic...

Well, nothing is going on here that is worthy of posting. LOL
I can't wait till I start scrapping and working on those cards.. but I have to get some first... we will see. I'm going to get some pens at least this weekend so I can do something. I'm ready!

Can't wait to see Grandma's Shawlette finished... she is going to love it!

Talk to you later.

Sad realization!

Good Morning kiddo,
Well, after all that work and getting all excited about how well it fit, I've decided to give my red Simple Cardigan away and try to do another one, just longer. It's just too short and there is no way I can lengthen it without wripping way too much and by then I could knit another one. So, I'm sad, but learned a lesson - MEASURE! Or I could get a flat stomach, but I don't see that happening!
I finished knitting my "Little Companion" bag last night so have to do the I-cord strap and then felt it. I started another hat too, so should have that done in a day or so. If I paid attention to all this stuff I wouldn't have to reknit so much huh? Pooh!
That's my crafty day. What are you up to? You didn't go back for a snooze did you?
Back to packing up my old kitchen, to get ready for my new one.
Love ya,
Mom

Morning

Dear Mommy,

Guess what, while sitting here this morning I made myself drink a whole bottle of water! I told myself I wasn't moving until I drank it. It is 16.9 oz. I gagged the whole way through it, but did it none the less. Yay for me.
I am walking this morning too, but after a nap. Kids were up at 4 a.m! OUCH. That was too early. Then I am going to come back and organize my pictures (people, places, things)for my scrapbook!
Hope you have a good day and I hope you get your project done!
