What a great surprise when I opened my e-mail and had one from Mimknits and she said I won her contest! I didn't really know I entered a contest, but she was having trouble with her new e-shop and asked if everyone could see all the links, etc. I commented and my name was drawn for the prize. How cool is that? Made my day! Thank you so much Mim!!!! I'll take a picture when it gets here. And I was actually mentioned on her blog - first "famous" persons blog that I know of, even though my blog link didn't work. :o(
I've been working on my Sitcom Chic sweater and about to do the neck decreases, so might just have a sweater by next weekend sometime. I've been religiously checking my gauge every few inches and I'm right on!
I finished the CeCe sweater but *yuck* - trying to decide if I should rip it all out and start over or what. I goofed big time, it wasn't the pattern, I love the pattern. My thinking skills were way off when I was doing the neck decreasing and I screwed it up royally! I'd rip it out in a heart beat if it weren't for the fact that the yarn has a little strand of a shimmery yarn down thru the middle and that stuff is not easy to undo. But, no biggy, I'm glad I had it to work on while getting the Baby Girl off to college.
I'm still on the second chart of the 2nd side of my Mystery Stole 2. After the stitches falling off the needles last week I've decided to let it have a break. Will get back to it tonight.
I want to thank everyone for their comments and I think I've got it figured out now, how to get you in here. So, here's a special thank you to my commenters - you make my day each time you comment. Beth Catherine Shelley (I know you have a knitting blog Shelley, but I can never find it fast) Rebekah and a new commenter this week, Tonni. There, now I feel better getting you all in here. I love hearing from you all!
And, to answer everyone's question, yes, lunch with both girls was great! I've always loved the sounds of my kids laughing and talking together but you just can't beat hearing them doing it over a restaurant table together when they're 11 years apart. Dad and I just kind of listened and I'm sure we had a stupid "proud parents" look on our faces. But, my bestest news ever! They're all coming home for the long holiday weekend! My Baby Boy is coming home from Atlanta for the weekend, the Baby Girl and her roommate/best friend are coming home for the weekend and the oldest Baby Girl and my 3 grands are coming home on Sunday. It's the oldest baby girls birthday on Labor Day (all 3 of my kids were born on or a day before a holiday!) and my youngest granddaughters birthday is the day before. So, this is going to be one happy Mother! I'll have ALL my chicks in my basket for a few days. :o)

A Pictures Worth A Thousand Words..........
But, I don't have any yet.
I'm still here! I haven't been blogging because I've been knitting. You'd be surprised how much you can get done when you limit your computer time. I've been working on a sweater in the morning with my cocoa and lace in the evenings when I sit in the living room with BTB.
Okay, no pictures of what I'm working on but here's the links so you can atleast see what it is. I'm doing this sweater- http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEspring03/PATTsitcomchic.html . I'm doing it in Cotton Ease, color Pistachio. I'm half done with the second sleeve and hope to put them on the circular needle with the body by tomorrow.
In the evenings I'm working on the Mystery Stole 2 KAL. I'm doing that in Knit Picks Alpaca Cloud in the color Iris. I doubled the yarn so it wouldn't be so light, but it's coming out very pretty. Hopefully that'll be done in the next week or so. I just started the second half and I can do about 1/2 of a chart in one night. There's 6 clues so 6 charts that you do twice. I even managed to get all of the stitches picked up from the provisional cast on. Here
is the link, with pictures if you're a Yahoo Groups member. I'm having a heck of a time getting the links in here, so hope it works.
So, nothing to show yet, but I'm knitting away. Going to see the Baby Girl tomorrow, and the oldest Baby Girl and taking them both out to lunch. Not sure what other college kids will be going but I'm sure there will be atleast one. They love having someone come and take them out to lunch once in awhile. And, well, I love doing it! We're slowing getting used to our Empty Nest but we still miss the kid like crazy! So, we'll drive and have lunch with her. Lots of knitting time for me that way.
Happy Knitting!

31 Years Ago Today
I was a blushing bride! Today, I'm still glad I made the choice I did. I wouldn't do anything differently.
I haven't blogged in awhile because, well, I'm sure you don't want to hear about the "Empty Nest Syndrome" and I've been working on gauge swatches (boring stuff) and trying to figure out where my gauge changes during a project. I have been working on my log cabin blanket and the Mystery Stole 2 stole. But, nothing to take a picture of yet.
I've also been buying yarn. Jeesh, that's a bad thing, I've gotten a package almost every day this week! Smiley's had the Cotton Ease on sale, Webs had the Noro on sale, I just order. Gotta quit that, I don't have a place to put it all. BTB just laughs and says "The UPS man is here again, bringing you more string." Gotta love that guy! (BTB, not the UPS man, although, without him, I wouldn't get the yarn delivered to my door, would I?!:o)
The Baby Girl is all moved in to her dorm/apartment, keeping busy and being a SUPER kid and calling her mother each night to "check in." I think it's as much for her as it is for me. Sure is quiet around here.
Here's Maggi, our 9 year old Dachshund going camping.
